MCP server

Use OnRamp from your AI assistant

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code to OnRamp. Your assistant can then read and update your projects, tasks, playbooks and accounts while you chat with it.

Server URL:

https://api.onramp.us/mcp

The server uses OAuth. Your client opens an OnRamp sign-in page the first time it connects, so you never paste an API key into it. Every call runs as you, with your OnRamp permissions: the assistant can do only what you can do in the app.

Connect your client

  1. Open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Select Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Enter the name OnRamp and the server URL, then select Continue.
  4. Sign in to OnRamp when Claude asks.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector once under Organization settings → Connectors. Each member then selects Connect on it.

claude mcp add --transport http onramp https://api.onramp.us/mcp

Start Claude Code, run /mcp, select onramp and sign in.

Add OnRamp to Cursor

Or add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "onramp": { "url": "https://api.onramp.us/mcp" }
  }
}
code --add-mcp '{"name":"onramp","type":"http","url":"https://api.onramp.us/mcp"}'

Or add the server to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace:

{
  "servers": {
    "onramp": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.onramp.us/mcp" }
  }
}
  1. Turn on Developer mode under Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings.
  2. Create a connector with the server URL and choose OAuth for authentication.
  3. Sign in to OnRamp when ChatGPT asks.

Developer mode is not available on every ChatGPT plan.

Any other client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth can connect with the same URL.

Try asking

  • "Which onboarding projects are overdue, and what is blocking each one?"
  • "Summarize the activity on the Acme project this week and draft a status note."
  • "Create a project for Globex from our Enterprise playbook and assign it to me."
  • "Mark the kickoff task complete and nudge the customer on the security review."
  • "Show the health overview for every project that goes live this month."

What the server can do

Area Read Change
Projects Search, open, list activity, notes and comments Create from a playbook, update fields, status and tags, add notes and members, reorder modules
Tasks Open, list, read step questions Add, update, complete or reopen, answer steps, comment, nudge, set dependencies
Playbooks List and open, browse the module library Create, edit modules and tasks, reorder
Accounts and users List and open accounts, customer users and your team Create and update accounts and customer users, add notes, set fields and tags
Views and insights Run saved views, read project health, velocity, workload and engagement insights Save a view
Workspace Your profile, data fields, a catalog of what you can reach None

Each tool tells your client whether it only reads and whether it can delete or overwrite data. Most clients ask you to approve a change before they make it.

Before you start

  • Access. MCP access is turned on per workspace. If your client reports that MCP tools are disabled for your organization, contact support.
  • Disconnecting. Remove the connector in your client to stop it from calling OnRamp.
  • The REST API. To build an integration that runs without a person in the loop, use the API reference with an API key instead.
